RoboBoat is an international collegiate competition that challenges student teams from around the world to design, build, and operate Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs). Teams must integrate mechanical, electrical, and software systems to create a vessel capable of navigating and completing complex tasks autonomously, without direct human control.

The competition tests a wide range of engineering skills, including hull design, propulsion, sensor integration, computer vision, path planning, control algorithms, PCB design, and electrical systems. Teams spend months designing, building, testing, and refining their vessels before putting them to the test in a competitive environment.

Beyond the competition itself, RoboBoat gives students hands-on experience with real-world autonomous marine technology and the opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges as a multidisciplinary team. For TMR, RoboBoat provides a platform to take the technology we build from the ground up and put Texas engineering on the world stage.
